Enrolling at Monica Ros

At Monica Ros School, children’s creativity is fostered and they are cherished and loved during an impressionable time of discovery in their young lives. For 75 years Monica Ros School has offered the “right beginnings” to generations of Ojai’s children, and they recall their days at this little school as some of their fondest. 

Open enrollment begins each March. We accept our Application Form on a rolling basis and keep a waitlist for each classroom.

All prospective students are asked to tour the school; we can’t wait to meet you! 

Which classroom is right for your student? 

Our preschool is divided between the campus’ charming cottages. Below are some of the age requirements for enrolling in the different classrooms. All of our classrooms are full-year programs, we enroll students for the school calendar year of August – June. 

• GREEN ROOM: 3-years-old by October 15. Variable schedule for three, four, or five days a week. 8:45am-12:45pm with before and after care available 8:00am to 5:00pm. 
• BLUE ROOM: 4-years-old by October 15. Variable schedule for three, four, or five days a week. 8:45am-1:15pm with before and after care available 8:00am to 5:00pm. 
• RED ROOM: 4-years-old by September 1. Five days a week. 8:45am-1:15pm with before and after care available 8:00am to 5:00pm. 
• KINDERGARTEN: 5-years-old by September 1. Five days a week. 8:45am-1:45pm with before and after care available 8:00am to 5:00pm. 
• FIRST GRADE: 6-years-old by September 1. Five days a week. 8:30am-2:45pm (with shorter days each Fall through September for student’s adjustment.) Before and after care available 8:00am to 5:00pm. 
• SECOND GRADE: 7-years-old by September 1. Five days a week. 8:30am-2:45pm with before and after care available 8:00am to 5:00pm. 
• THIRD GRADE: 8-years-old by September 1. Five days a week. 8:30am-2:45pm with before and after care available 8:00am to 5:00pm.
