Fiesta!
Originally known as the Mexican Fair, ¡Fiesta! began in the 1950s. ¡Fiesta! is both FUNraiser and fundraiser, put on by Monica Ros School parents and teachers for the entire Ojai community. Set in early fall, ¡Fiesta! combines all the elements of a county fair for children, right on campus. Every year, children enjoy traditional activities such as decorating sombreros and riding burros through the orchard as well as modern entertainments like jump houses and climbing walls. There are baked goods and Mexican food, an activity house, crafts, specialty sales, face painting, music, student performances, a small carnival, and numerous other activities. At ¡Fiesta!‚ the children get a taste of independence as they enjoy exciting, age-appropriate activities and explore to their hearts’ content alongside their friends and family in our safe community. The true testament to the long-lasting and happy memories created at ¡Fiesta! is the number of alumni that return to participate in recreating the magic of the event. Alumni asked to recall their memories of Fiesta! are likely to burst out with childlike excitement: “It was REALLY fun!”
