The grade school classes visit Ojai’s Oak Tree House throughout the year to interact with local senior citizens. They play bingo, share art projects, collect oral histories, sing, and recite poetry during their monthly visits. Students also have jobs within their classrooms and the School in order to help keep our campus beautiful. Our annual Adopt-An-Acre program is spearheaded by the kindergarteners in conjunction with The Nature Conservancy. By pooling loose change the children earn by performing household chores, Monica Ros students have purchased and preserved hundreds of acres of rainforest land! Involving all the grades, the children learn to work together to make a difference. http://www.nature.org/adoptanacre During the holiday season, the campus sponsors several families in HELP of Ojai’s Adopt-A-Family Program. http://www.helpofojai.org/cap/cap.html The students and their families donate food and money, which is used to purchase toys for families in need.
