Our next few weeks we will be very busy with play preparations. We will be discussing advertising, making an advertisement, designing our play set, finalizing costumes, rehearsing our lines and practicing our songs. Please save the date for our play HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW? Our performance will be Thursday, May 22nd at 5:30. Emily (Celeste’s mom) is helping with the cast party, thank you Emily!!! We will have our cast party/potluck following the performance. We will order pizza and need to collect a nominal amount per family for our main dish. Please see the sign-up sheet in the classroom to add a side dish etc.to the party. We will also need to know how many will be attending the performance, please write it on sign-up sheet. Our dress rehearsal will be on Wednesday, May 21st at 10:30. We will be sending home your child’s lines. Please practice with them by reading the line before their line, and letting them know who precedes them.
We will be receiving our live butterfly culture and a praying mantis egg casing soon. We will learn about the life cycle of a butterfly and enjoy watching ours move through the life cycle stages right before our eyes!
We have begun the 6th, unit, in our Happily Ever After language arts curriculum. This is a Hans Christian Anderson tale, The Nightingale. We will be learning the important concepts left, right, first, next and last.
In our math curriculum, we are finishing Book 7. We are also reviewing numbers 1 through 6, playing games with flash cards, dice, and continuing to sort and classify items. We are learning about measurement using non-standard units of measurement. We will introduce rulers for more measuring fun!
