More March News – Blue Room
March 26, 2012
Dear Blue Room Families,
We are deep into our study of Dinosaurs and loving every minute of it. We are learning dinosaur names, what they ate, and when they lived. We have made “authentic” Tyrannosaurus Rex teeth and made our own Blue Room fossils. We will be measuring dinosaur sizes with a100 foottape measure! The Blue Roomers were astonished to learn that a Tyrannosaurus Rex would completely fill both rooms in our classroom and is twice as tall as our Blue Room ceiling! We stood in the “footprint” of a giant saurapod and estimated how many preschoolers could fit inside. We have talked about paleontologists and how they look for fossils. Have you heard about the ”genuine” dinosaur fossil that we have “ordered” just for the Blue Roomers. We are expecting it to arrive any day! The preschoolers will be busy chipping away with chisels and goggles until the “fossilized” bone is revealed!
Monica Ros Science Fair is Thursday, March 29th in the evening from 5:30 to 6:30. Please try to attend. The Blue Room will be transformed into the “Museum of Paleontology” for the science fair. This is a wonderful chance for your child to show you what they have been learning in our classroom. You can also visit all the other Monica Ros classrooms and see what they are doing.
We want to extend a huge “Thank you” to Kevin and Justine Wynn for our fabulous art auction project! It was unique and fabulous!
Spring Break is April 2nd through 8th! Have a great vacation!
*Please take note that there is NO DAYCARE this Friday March 30th. Dismissal is 1:15 for Blue and Red Room Preschoolers!
*We will provide day care until 1:45 for those preschool children that have a sibling attending the Monica Ros roller-skating party!
