Monica Ros School

Hi Everyone,

 We are happily back to school and wholeheartedly playing with all of our friends.  Enjoy the attached photos of our first days back to school!

 January is a busy month!

 Monday, January 16th    is Martin Luther King Jr.’s day and there is no school.  There is a Celebration in Libby Park and at 11:55 the Monica Ros Grade school and Kindergarten children will be singing. You are welcome to come listen, enjoy the day and see the posters that every classroom has created.

Arts Month is under way!   All Monica Ros students are exploring different

art mediums throughout the month of January with China in mind.   The Blue room children are creating scenes with a variety of materials. We will be adding to and experimenting with our art project all month. The Monica Ros Art Gallery showcasing our entire school’s art projects will be open on January 27th through the 30th.

 Sunday, January 29th is our annual Open House. Everyone is welcome to visit.

The afternoon event begins at 1:00pm with an opportunity to visit the art exhibit in Meyer Hall (a must see!). From 1:30 to 2:00 you may visit your current classroom, 2:00 to 2:30 visit next year’s classroom and 2:30 to 3:00 join us for cookies and songs in our amphitheater.

 January 30th is Founder’s Day.  This would be Monica Ros’ 111th birthday!

Parents, family and friends are invited to enjoy this wonderful whole school assembly which takes place on the black top at 10:30. If your child does not attend school on Monday, please join us in the classroom at 10:15. Each class presents a song or a poem in honor of Mrs. Ros and then we have some birthday cake. It is a great show and one of the only times you can see the whole school in action. This is also the final day of the Monica Ros Art Gallery in Meyer Hall. Make sure you stop in to see your child’s art display.
